The Journal of Sāmoan Studies is a multidisciplinary publication devoted to the study of Sāmoa, published by the National University of Sāmoa, through its Center for Sāmoan Studies. Every issue features blind peer reviewed articles that discuss a range of topics focused on Sāmoan history, culture, society and people, along with research reports and shorter communications. JSS is managed by a Chief Editor and Associate Editor, both based at CSS. The journal also has an editorial board comprised of scholars and experts in Sāmoa and abroad.
General and Special Issues
Calls for General Issues rotate following each subsequent publication. Calls for submissions will be released within a month of the publication of the last General Issue.
Special Issues focus on specific issues or topics, sometimes under guest editorship. JSS has published 3 Special Issues previously (Volume 11, No. 2; Volume 10, No. 2; Volume 2, No. 1). Email us at jss.@nus.edu.ws if you are interested in proposing a Special Issue.
