SUBMISSION DETAILS


The Journal of Samoan Studies (JSS) is a multidisciplinary academic open-access online journal. It is published by the National University of Samoa through its Centre for Samoan Studies.

The Journal of Samoan Studies aims to disseminate research findings on Samoa.

All articles submitted in English or Samoan languages to JSS should conform to international academic standards and will be peer reviewed.

Issues


  1. Normal issues of the JSS will contain articles on a range of topics in the social and human sciences, sciences or applied science, arts, education, and literature, relating to Samoa.
  2. Special issues may be guest edited (as faculty-based or department-based collections in any of these disciplines).

JSS is comprised of three sections:

  1. Articles
  2. Shorter communications and comments
  3. Books and Media Reviews

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word, double spaced using font style Calibri 11. Articles should be approximately 5-6000 words, and no more than 1000 words for shorter communications comments and book and media reviews.

Manuscripts should be organised as follows:


  1. Title
  2. Author’s name
  3. Institutional affiliation of the author
  4. Abstract
  5. Main text without numbers, subheadings are acceptable.
  6. Acknowledgements and/or notes
  7. References

Style

Submissions should be styled according to the Journal of Samoa Studies Style Guide and Information for Authors.
