Alo Dr. Silia Pa’usisi Finau is the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Senior Lecturer who has been teaching for 41 years. She is a traditionally oriented Samoan woman who proudly demonstrates virtues and ethics particular to a Tamaitai Samoa. She holds an oratory matai title Alo from her mother’s family at Sataoa, Safata. Her research interest is in the area of women’s leadership and she is currently interviewing women leaders on the enabling and constraining factors to women’s access to leadership in Samoa. Silia is always mindful of the sacredness of the space (va) between dialoguing parties when involved in any type of formal or informal discussions.

Dawn Rasmussen is a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Education, National University of Samoa, teaching Health and Physical Education. She holds a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, a Bacherlors Degree is Sport Studies from the University of Canterbury in Australia, and a New Zeland Teachers Certificate. Dawn has been involved in Sports and represented Samoa in various sports in the South Pacific Games. She also introduced Physical Education to Samoa in 1967.

Dr Epenesa Esera is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education of the National University of Samoa. She has taught for over 40 years at various levels of education: primary, secondary and tertiary. Currently she teachers Education courses for the Bachelor of Education. She received a teaching certificate from Hamilton Teacher’s College, NZ 1977; a Bachelor of Arts 1987 at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji; Master of Arts 1991, at Macquarie University, Australia and PhD in 2021 from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago. At the Faculty of Education she lectures in core education courses, has compiled course books, designed power point lectures, use online platforms such as Moodle and Virtual for interactive class sessions. Her research interests are in the areas of leadership, teacher education and early childhood education. She has published in the Pacific Asia Journal, the Waikato Journal of Education, the Journal of Samoan Studies and Alternative: An International Journal of indigenous Scholarship and the Journal of Samoan Studies

Eric Clem Groves is the Manager Planning under the Governance, Policy and Planning division of the National University of Samoa. In his current capacity, he oversees the development and monitoring of strategic and structural plans of the University such as the Corporate Plan, Campus Master Plan, Strategic Plan, Waste Management Plan and the Renewable Energy Plan. Mr. Groves currently holds a Masters in Development Studies degree and specializes in the history of the National University of Samoa and higher education in developing countries. His wide range of research interests include post-secondary education and training, project management, waste management, renewable energy, inclusive education, policy development and governance.

Ioana Jackie Wright-Fualautoatasi is a Lecturer in the Department of Education, Faculty of Education at the National University of Samoa.

Kuinileti Lauina Viliamu has been teaching in the education system for more than 15 years. She also worked in the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture as the Early Primary curriculum officer for 6 years. She currently lectures in Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Education of the National University of Samoa. Kuinileti graduated from the University of the West Indies in Barbados with a Masters of Education in Curriculum Studies.

Malavai Liki Moleli is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science at the National University of Samoa.

Mauafuatagataolesoloiapia Tulipe is a teacher at Vaimauga College & graduated with a postgraduate diploma in education from the National University of Samoa.

Minerva Ta’avao’s full name including chiefly titles and family name is ‘Seumanu Logoitumua Minerva Ta’avao-Mataese’. She was formerly the Quality Officer Research and Evaluation for the National University of Samoa under the Academic Quality Unit. Minerva Ta’avao is a specialised statistician and is the author to the National University of Samoa Annual Statistical Digests from 2015 to 2020. She is a Bachelor of Science graduate of the National University of Samoa and is currently based at the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration in Samoa.

Muliagatele Dr. Rasela Tufue-Dolgoy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at the National University of Samoa.

Sameli Tuiloma was formerly the Planning Officer-Research for the National University of Samoa under the Governance, Policy and Planning Division. In this capacity Sameli Tuiloma specialised in Project Management, Research, Data Collection and Records Management. He is a Bachelor of Business Management graduate of the University of Waikato in Hamilton New Zealand. Sameli now resides in New Zealand with his family.

Sue’ala Kolone Collins graduated with a Master of Education (Honours) from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2010. She is currently a lecturer for the Education Department in the Faculty of Education. She also holds a Post Grad Dip from AUT and a Bachelor of Education from the National University of Samoa. She completed her Diploma of Education from the Western Samoa Secondary Teachers College in 1991 and then pursued her teaching career in several Colleges in Samoa before further studies in 2006.

Tagataese Tupu Tuia is a Lecturer in the Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Education at the National University of Samoa.

Tofilau Dr. Faguele Suaalii is a Senior Lecturer for the Teacher Education Department, Faculty of Education at the National University of Samoa.
